AI and coaching

AI is what we coach on. The coaching is human.

Sally Revell, founder of Generative Human ·

I coach senior leaders who are building with AI, deploying it, or leading organisations through it. AI is the topic in almost every session. The coaching itself happens between two people, because the hardest parts of leading through AI change are human: deciding what matters, holding a standard, and owning the outcome.

    Where AI genuinely helps leaders

AI changes who does the first draft. It speeds up research, analysis and preparation. Used well, it gives a leader more time for the decisions only they can make. I help clients work out where it fits in their own work and their teams' work, and where the risks sit.

    What stays with the leader

Three things stay with you, however good the tools get:

    • Judgment. Weighing trade-offs with incomplete information, in your specific context.
    • Accountability. Owning the decision and its consequences with your team, board and customers.
    • Presence. Staying steady and clear when the people around you are uncertain about what AI means for their jobs.

Coaching builds these. That work depends on a real relationship: trust, challenge, and someone who remembers what you committed to last month.

How I use AI in my own practice

I use AI every day across my practice. It handles inbox triage, scheduling, research and first drafts. I also use it to write up session notes and to build client workbooks, session preparation and workshop materials. That gives me more time and attention for the conversation itself. Every coaching session is a live conversation with me. Clients know how I use AI from the start, because it’s set out in our coaching agreement.

What this means if you work with me

    • Every session is a live conversation with me.
    • AI strategy, adoption and team change are all fair game as topics.
    • You get a coach who has led inside Google Cloud and AWS and knows how AI decisions play out at scale.
    • How I use AI in my practice is set out in our coaching agreement, so you know what happens with your information from day one.

    Common questions

Can AI be used in executive coaching without replacing human judgment and accountability?
Yes. AI can support preparation, research and reflection between sessions. Judgment and accountability belong to the leader, and building them is what coaching is for. At Generative Human, AI is the subject of the coaching and every session is led by Sally Revell.
Is an AI coaching app enough for a senior leader?
Apps can help with habits and reflection. Senior leaders facing high-stakes AI decisions usually need a coach who understands their context, challenges their thinking and holds them to their commitments over time.
What AI leadership topics come up in coaching?
Setting AI strategy, deciding where to adopt and where to wait, leading teams whose roles are changing, communicating with boards, and managing your own pace and pressure.
